The Israeli National Natural History Collections at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem host the herbarium, invertebrate, mollusc, fish, amphibian, reptile, avian, mammalian, archaeozoological and palaeobiological collections. The herbarium, mollusc, fish and archaezoology collections consist of the largest specimen collections of the Levant. This site presents information on the collections and their databases.

The last Collections newsletter, Haasiana no. 6, has been published. You can access a pdf under "Publications" or request a hard copy from Dr. Dany Golani.

We regret to inform that the mother of Alan Matthews, the Director of the Collections, passed away.



New book published: The Acheulian Site of Gesher Benot Ya'aqov, Volume III by Rivka Rabinovich, Gaudzinski-Windheuser S, Kindler L & Goren-Inbar N.


The first databases are now online, and others will be upgraded gradually. Please read "Database Information" before starting a search. Feedback is welcome, and can be mailed to the webmaster.
